Sam Bankman-Fried and Diddy Reportedly Sharing Jail Space in Brooklyn
Disgraced FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) is reportedly sharing a detention unit with music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs at Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC). SBF, sentenced to 25 years for orchestrating an $8 billion financial fraud, and Diddy, facing serious charges including racketeering and sex trafficking, are housed in a special section meant for high-profile inmates.
The MDC, notorious for its challenging conditions, has long been criticized for its violent environment, poor medical care, and frequent lockdowns. Diddy's legal team is working to have him relocated while he awaits trial, where he could potentially face life imprisonment if convicted.
Bankman-Fried, known for his vegan diet, has reportedly struggled with the prison's food quality, relying heavily on bread and peanut butter. Despite the difficult conditions, he chose to stay in New York rather than transfer to a facility in California to remain close to his legal team for ongoing appeals.
Both SBF and Diddy are now part of the infamous group of high-profile inmates housed at the facility, which previously held figures like R. Kelly and Ghislaine Maxwell. With more FTX-related cases yet to be sentenced, the unit may soon see even more well-known individuals behind its walls.
